That is from an Edson pump engine.
Actually the same engine as a Fuller and Johnson Farm Pump Engine
Note the pic next to the bottom

Thanks, that solved the mystery in short order. The photo I attached didn't show the end of the crankshaft. It was not like the end of a typical marine or stationary engine so I thought it might have been altered for some reason. I can see from the illustration you referenced exactly why the end looks as it does.
