I have a 318 chrys. marine.have a velvet drive bellhousing and a rear mount srarter.I am useing a 12in. flywheel,mopar 318-400-440.the starter misses the flywheel by about 1/4 of an inch.does this set up use a larger flywheel or ringear.It starts fine with a truck bellhouseing and
starter. Thanks RED

You might be better off asking that question in the Chrysler category of MarineEngine.com

Your engine might be old... but it isn't really old enough.

Most of the marine engine discussed and covered on this site are pre-1940 style slow speed inboards.
