I have a 1972 35' Chris Craft with twin 505 210hp v8 motors. They have not been run for ten years, and are real hard to work on inside the boat.So I want to pull them out.Need to know are these motors worth trying to fix, port side motor has water in oil. Please advise Brian

Compaired to the other cummins engines the v8's of that vintage had a poor reputation. After a few years they went back to inline 6 cylinder engines that ran at slower speeds. If i did some looking i could find the weight of a bare engine, but its heavy. The problem guys have if they try to repower with a newer engine is there is no room for a big inline engine plus they run slower.

Larry thanks for the info.My shop has an over head electric chain hoist 2000lb.I have used it to pull some 6 354 slant perkins diesels out of a boat same trans as the cummins, but the cummins look a little heaver what do you think.
