A contact of mine reported there was a discussion of the Dodge diesels here, possibly in context with Chrysler Crown. I can't find it , desire a plethora of search terms tried. Anybody remember it?

Dodge designed and built a diesel in the '30s, introducing it in trucks for 1939. It was based on their 7-main bearing T43, 331 ci gas engine and used the Lanova combustion chamber. It was offered in 2 and 3-ton trucks only into 1942, when civilian truck production stopped. It reappeared in 1945 in the commercial/industrial engine catalog and a few industrial versions have been found. Reportedly, there were marine versions too, which I would like to verify. They were not offered in trucks after 1942 but I can't seem to find the end of production in the Chrysler Industrial realm. The last version made 110 hp at 2600 and 240 lbs-ft at 1200, which was virtually identical to the T124 gas 331 ci. It appears to be a well designed engine. I have found few survivors, but one with a serial number in the 3,700 range. Only a few over 600 of the trucks were built.
