HI, When pulling into the dock in forward gear, the shift lever was like frozen in place, I had to pull really hard to get it out of gear. Really hard! After I removed the shift cable which was almost frozen, I lubed it and now it works fine. I re-installed the cable, however now I don't have reverse, and the shift lever feels real funny when I move it, it seems to have very little resistance. Almost too smooth. I checked the positioning of the cable to the transmission lever, it is correct. I turned the engine over by hand, and forward, neutral, reverse is all there, but not under power, I have forward, neutral seems hard to find, and no reverse. Before I take the cover off the transmission, I was wondering what your thoughts are, what I should be looking for. Why it was stuck in forward gear in the first place, I feel that the shift cable, how ever bad, is really not the problem. Maybe a contributor, but not really the issue. Thanks for any advice you can give me. I love my Palmer, and the OXB. This is a direct drive. |

Forward locks the clutches, reverse applies the band. Usually you can adjust both, remove the cover and look for an adjustment screw on the band, try taking up some slack. |
