I am rebuilding a pw-27. I bought a manual as well as a book on single cylinder gas engines. So far everything is going as planned. However I have run into one thing I can't figure out.

In the side of the valve chamber there is a right angle flare fitting. what does this connect to? In the manual I found a few pics that showed the fitting, but only one that showed a line running from it, but I can't see where it goes.

Any ideas?second flare fitting from top on right side

I believe that's the crank case vent to the caburator. It is on mine.

Yup it is the breather
It is just a short piece of copper tubing ending in front of the carb air inlet flame trap

No wonder why I can't find where it goes, it goes nowhere!

Thanks for the help. So that recycles the gases that slip by into the crankcase and reburns them right?

Yup that is exactly what it does. The end is cut at a 45 so it goes kind of flat against the front of the flame trap
