I have a Pearson 300 built in 1970. I bought it last year and have had it out of the water working on the body and engine. I am almost set to go back in. Just a couple questions.
1. What type of oil should be used in the OXKB? not cold weather.
2. Tips on checking proper adjustment on the forward drive.

The P-60 engine manual recommends you use HD-30 oil for the OXKB Paragon trans -the same as you are probably using in the crankcase. The level should be just below the tailshaft at the rear of the clutch. Don't overfill or you'll leak from the rear oil seal.

The forward drive should be adjusted if the gear slips out. (forward should snap into gear; reverse does not have the same snap.) To adjust, you need to back out a lock screw that goes into the a adjusting collar until it clears the notch in the adjusting collar. Rotate the adjusting collar to the right until the lock screw is lined up with another notch, then tighten the lock screw. Repeat, if necessary.
