Hey first time for me, would like to join or have feedback on the Acadia I have. I have a 27ft mtr boat in Newfoundland Canada with a 8 hp Acadia mtr , I was green 2 months ago, been a mechanic for 40 yrs but no experience with the make an break. Want to learn, have lots of spare parts and have done the carb and igniter with gd results. Somebody can tell me to stay away or stay in thanks Mark nl.

Hi Mark:
I have a 5 HP Acadia (not in a boat yet) that similarly I have been figuring out. Right now I'm looking to figure out the 'third port air throttle'. Have you figured out what that is for yet?

Thanks,
Ned

I'm sorry I can't answer many of your questions, I'm a newbe too but here is something to help keep you motivated. It's a video of our 5 HP Acadia in our trap skiff that came from your part of the world.

Keith: -- I love your trap skiff. I think I saw her for sale a couple of years go (on the net) out your way. Glad to see she found a good home! Any idea how she got so far from 'home'?
Do you run straight gas or gas/oil mixed? I am guessing that with the oilers on the engine you are running straight gas?

Hi, this is Mark back again, we don't have internet access at home and have to go out to go on. Anyway that third port air throttle no sir I have the owner manual parts bk and it only mentions the name. What I am wondering now is how do you get the float out of the carb it looks simple but I must be simpler.I have the motor working gd but always want better. If anyone knows I would appreciate it and would still like to sign on.

Hi this is Mark back again, we don't have internet access at home so I have to go somewhere with wi fi or the library. Anyway to answer about the third port air throttle, I have the manual parts bk and it lists it but says no more. I have mine working pretty well now, but would still like to learn more, I have a spare carb and was wondering about taking the float out to seal or shellac, I tried the spare and broke the small brass bolt. Anyway would like join up on your site and as I said limited Internet gd site I enjoy reading the discussions .
