What a good day, no2 p55 which is in the Rubytoo has been given a repaint and spruce up after a accident with some very caustic degreaser which took most off the paint, stripped down to bare engine repainted and everything cleaned and polished and reassembled over two weeks.
Three cranks and off she went , run for five minutes and then shut down , give the flywheel a spin and off she goes again, it cant get better , but wait.
No1 P55 which has undergone top end rebuild{see previous entries}has been reassembled and painted has always been a problem engine typical of other p55s on this discussion board.
After rigging up fuel tank and exhaust in the doorway of my dads shed and engine on trolley from no2 P55,I began to crank, after resetting magneto and adjusting choke of she went starting and responding to thottle.
The smile is still on my face, i shut no1 down and gave the flywheel a spin by hand and of she went, to be honest i felt like i had at my kids births.
I restarted and ran both engines at speed for half an hour no leaks no problems, i am going to celebrate with a few beers, actually quite a few.
Matt.
