I am having difficulty removing the gear shifter of my Stuart Turner P5MR. The manual says to remove the four hold down bolts but not to touch the centering pin. Having done so, the shifter mount is loose, but will not lift out. Is there something I am missing?

The centering pin has to also be removed. I believe the manual is really talking about the brass inset which the centering pin goes through - don't move that if you can help it.
