I'm after a Stuart Turner P55 hopefully in reasonable condition or restorable on the east coast of Australia. I'm prepared to pay a suitable price as i want to build a "last" boat with my aged dad who, as a boat builder for many of his younger years, used this motor with the greates of reliability

Thanks Tim , Greg rang me a couple of days ago , I suggested to him that he should be able to get what he wants a little nearer to home . I think i know where there is one here in Perth but freight tp Queensland would be very expensive .........good to see the network working .

Yes, I thought Perth was a bit far though I was keen enough to pay the freight and very happy with what Steve sold me, gave me and organised for me - five engines and about half a pallet of parts that all up should make maybe at least two good engines with plenty of parts over.

I've sent him an email about Greg's interest in an ST but I have a lead on at least one on the Eastern seaboard but I don't know whether the trail is cold. It will take a week or two to followup a few people.

PS: The ST info in the post to you.

I have one that is rebuilable, but will need a fair bit of work, not sure if it's worthwhile.

contact me via e-mail.

I have a rebuilt crankshaft with new roller bearings available. Several other parts also available after the engine block "exploded" with rust

David,

I keep on tripping over your messages. You are certainly getting some good coverage via the various sites you've used (for others this is the third forum). However, I bet you haven't yet found my advertisement for Stuart Turners in the Old Machinery Magazine (Australia).

I won't add much more to what I already mentioned in the other messages, easier to talk on the phone.

Can anyone help with diagrams, info, such as dates of manufacture, hp rating, correct carb for marine use, stripping manual, in fact any info at all. I am restoring our yacht club tender in Simons Town, South Africa( as we've given up on rugby for a while!) and want to convert the current 100 kilograms of revolving scrap iron and brass into a Stuart Turner P55.
Any info will be appreciated.

Terry,

If you send a note to Fairways Engineers in England they will tell you the date of manufacture and original delivery info.

They also sell the manual for the P55 as well as parts. You might also be able to get a copy of the manual elsewhere, it is not very large.

Regards,
Andrew
