Hi,need some initial help if poss.I have recently aquired a 16' elm clinker in spot on condition the last Brighton fishing boat of this type with a ST P6 5hp serial 12A568. The boat was in the water when I bought and the engine ran okay.I have now aquired a ST P66D 10hp serial 23B006. The P6 is out of the boat now and avalable for if interested - I am a novice but keen to learn. I need a manual for the P66D. Also can anyone advise on where I can get spares, the engine is in fantastic condition but I need a dynastart if poss and a choke and accelerator cable as these did not come with the purchase, anyother advice would be very welcome, basically i would like to be able to have some power on the boat as in electrical.I have a mooring on the river Nene in Wansford which is where I live, the plan is to get the boat up to scratch and use her on the Nene (no more salty water) she was displayed in the Brighton fishing museum for awhile and i hope to keep her as much to original spec as poss so people can admire the heritage aspect. Thankyou Martin Sylvester.

As you are in England, try Fairways Marine for new items or there are some items - including copy of manual etc - for sale on the Thames Vintage Boat Club website - try search engine search.

I suggest you try some of the stationary engine clubs. Also, contact Kim Siddorn - see his photos - some 40 Stuarts - posted on the "community webshoys" site. Just search of "Stuart engine" via any search engine to find it.

Pity you are not in Australia then it would have been geograhically possible to assist you with parts.

Good luck

Hi Sylvester,

I have just given up trying to rescue an old P6 which had been abandoned and waterlogged as part of a restoration project. I would be keen to buy it off you - I can collect since I live in London and the project is in Southampton.

I have shown my email -
