Hi,
I have become the owner of a very sad Pup!
I hope to restore over the next few years so that I can power my boat which I will be building.
I purchased a manual on the Wico EK Magneto but on picking up the engine it is not my magneto. My magneto has a round lid held on by a spring lever. Any one have any ideas .
Also can any one email or post me an engine manual, I would reimburse and cost.
Best Regards John

Looks like an EMROX magneto, Australian made, similar to the Lucas RS1.

Looks like you have a crack in the block, better strip it down and try to stop the rust from blowing
the block apart completely.
Also noticed the maggy is in the reverse position.

Actually had a closer look, its already blown out
and cracked the maggy bracket a well.
If the piston is seized in the block.Dont,I repeat,
DONT try to free it by putting something down the
spark plug hole onto the piston and hitting it.
That is the fastest way to destroy a piston.
They have very thin crowns .better to buy a new
block

Hi all,
Many thanks for your relpies.
Todd, I had a chance to read up on this blogg before I picked up the engine, thanks to every one.
Due to matters beyond my control I cant operate at present.
What I did was to remove the plug and pour oil into the cylinder, then poured antifreeze into the jacket.
The engine was advertised as spares, but I love a challenge. I will give it a couple of weeks spraying penetrator daily before trying the nuts. Yes a mess of rust and a totally siezed unit.
This is a first or me so any hints would be very welcome.

Best Regards John

By the way is it of any use asking for information on a EMROX magneto?
