My guess is it from AU or UK
Found in New Hampshire buried in dirt.
Note the size of the water outlet in the cylilnder before it has been reduced and no water pump so I am guessing maybe stationary???
Exhaust is on the side and intake is on the end opposite the flywheel. Small hole in the side goes into the transfer port so maybe an oiler and tall pipe is for a grease cup for the main bearing. Also there is a marine type thrust bearing between the flywheel and the crankcase. Maybe marine afterall with a water pickup behind the prop???
The timer handle appears to be home made.

could always be garden tractor, and thermo siphon cooling. what are the threads? USA? |

Pipe appears to be US.
It landed in my lap an hour ago so I really havn't had a chance to get into it.
The only threads that aren't pipe are the 4 bolts that hold the output flange on the flywheel and 1 other that holds the timer ground contact on the flywheel.
As to a garden tractor I see no reason for the heavy thrust bearing that it has.
More pics and info when I get it apart

Pics of inside. The only fastener that I find is the set screw on the wrist pin and the screws on the timer. Also 5 bolts on the flywheel to hold it together and the timer contact on it.
The plug on the end opposite the flywheel is the same as the one in the bottom except for the crankcase drain plug
