My Dad inherited this engine and we are looking for help identifying. The only markings are the Schebler carb. He heard a story that perhaps this had been in a small True Rocket sailboat with cockpit that was on the Merricmack River in Amesbury, Mass.

Unknown engine

Richard- Sorry for the double posting. I checked some of your other photos and I think you've helped solve this long time mystery!! Thanks from my dad and me. Next question- what to do with it. He's 91 and not planning on using it anytime soon. It doesn't have a name plate or muffler and not sure it runs. Here is a coil (think it is a Model A) that he was hoping to use with it. Coil

Well known in NH. Interesting design as there is no bottom half to the strap which holds the con rod to the throw. Makes a distinctive rattle when the ignition is cut off. I a have a con rod and piston for one but nothing else.

McDuff called that model the "BumbleBee", see

It's a nice little motor and I'm sure there would be some potential buyers on this site if you are selling it.

Can anyone tell me vintage? The engine is currently located in the southern Finger Lakes region. Anyone in that area know much about them?

I'm here in the N Y Fingerlakes but they are rare here. I knew of one in tough shape but have lost contact with the owner. It too was in the South West finger lakes...Was with a launch that needed restoration..
