I found a Caille inboard,14992 stamped in the name plate, of unknown age and hp. I am wondering if it is worthy of restoring to working condition or just polishing up to look at. Carb,oiler and sparkpack missing, but might yet be found. The compression seems good, water jacket tight, timer and water pump work. It spent it's last working days in fresh water. No play in the shaft, but there is a 3/16" excentricity in the 14" flywheel. I don't know the bore, the stroke is 3 1/2" A couple of pictures at http://s732.photobucket.com/albums/ww330/quiffhat/ |

If it has compression it's not far from running. Schebler carbs are available and it used a buzz coil for ignition. Oil everything that moves, remove the inspection plate and oil the rod journal also. The ignition timer is a rotating and a stationary contact, clean them up a little. Find a carb and you're ready to run. |

Looks like a good one you mite wont to check the intake popit valve and spring have fun |

Thanks for the replys,looks like it is worth doing a good restoration on. I'm new to this, would the Stan Grayson book be a good place to start? |
