I have seen a single cylinder two cycle Essex engine made in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have a picture of it somewhere...

There was also an Essex Engine Co. in Lynn, MA. There is a picture of a three cylinder Essex Engine Co. engine on page 156 of Wendel's book "American Gasoline Engines Since 1872".

Ted, I have an ESSEX one cyl make&break " manuf by James Fleming, St. John, NB, est. 1835"
