I have in my possession a prop from an LCM landing craft that was in the invasion of Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshalls. It was green, corroded and covered in coral and barnacles. Treating it as if it were brass I cleaned it up and grinded off all of the crap. Now I'm looking at it. and it looks like its made from copper or even bronze.

I was wondering if anyone knew what material was common in the early 40's for boat screws manufactured for military boats?
