The Coast Guard put out warnings to watermen they should not set fire to their engines on a cold day to get them started. Nothing like a handful of waste soaked in kerosene and tossed into the crankcase with a match tossed in to warm the engine up. Slap the side plate back on and away you go. Don't think I will try it myself but who said watermen had an easy life anyway.
