The Adams uses a Champion 25. The St.Lawrence uses an Autolite 3095 which, should be interchangeable with the Champion 25. For some reason it is not, but that's another story.

Is there a hotter plug than than the Champion 25 that I could try in the Adams?

Cheers!

Ernie feels Champion are not great. Might be the brand? Are todays Champions the same ones as years ago from a design and materials standpoint? Easier to try other brands (compatible number) than figure that out... my 2 cents

Interesting. I had an uncle that was in the auto repair business for years. He was never a fan of Champion.

Cheers!

The new Champion plugs have virtually NO glazing on the insulated electrode on the combustion chamber side. Compare a new one to a good clean old one. Old meaning from "way back when". The new one is a mat finish which to me is porous and once fouled is almost if not impossible to get clean.
