Having recently acquired a small, circa 1905 J.J. Parker single built in my community (Fulton, NY), I'm looking for information on this little marine engine. It looks like the one pictured in Wendel's book (but w/out the propeller/shaft/clutch mechanism). There's no carburetor, but I'm not sure where one might be fitted? It has an igniter as well as what appears to be a spark plug hole!?! Any info on the Parker will be greatly appreciated. Thanks- |

How about posting a picture of it here...? Or email a picture to me and I can post it here for you.
It has an igniter and a spark plug hole? You don't think it could be an ignitor and a threaded hole in the head for the stationary electrode of the igniter similar to the early Lathrop engines? Or maybe a replacement head with the hole for the spark plug that allowed the engine to be converted from make'n'break to jump spark?

Peter, I have a three cylinder Parker. It is a somewhat unsual engine in that it is ignitor fired from a side shaft. It is small and especially neat. I do not have any info on the company, and would appreciate if you would share any that you may receive. I will take some pictures and email them if I can get your address. ([email protected]) |

Attached is a picture (from the cold garage)of my little "New Parker" made by the G J Emeny Co also of Fulton, NY. It has a little preheater stove by the exhaust manifold and a 1/2" pipe intake just below the stove. Mine is also missing carb. Mine is a 3 port so could use any carb or mixer without needing a check valve.
Flywheel dia 10" Height 18"top to bottom.
