This landed in my shop today.
Thanks Debbie and Randy
Timer is very nicly fabricated and uses a set of car points that close for just an instant so the car coil works good. The button on the top of the timer is a kill switch.
It looks like it had an exhaust box muffler at one time.
Note the 3 bolt water pump flange and it doesn't use the traditional Detroit water pump strap.
It had a fabricated check valve and a carb from an outboard. However the carb wasn't any good so I replaced it with a check valve James Compact carb.

We don't get meteorites like that around here, but I wish we did.

The engine is a Gile Boat & Engine Co.of Ludington,Michigan !

1904-05 William L. Gile patented a marine engine
and invented reversible propellers and carburetors, in 1907 he sold his Co. and all its tooling To C.T.Wright in Greenville, Michigan and was plant superintendant,Gile left the company in 1908 and opened a new enterprise in 1909 the Gile Boat & Engine Co. in Ludington, his engine mfgring rights stayed with C.T.Wright so the new company bought Detroit Marine engines and made some changes such as the water/pump and mount !Gile sold his interests again in 1916 to Stearns Motor Mfging Co. I don't know if Stearns actually continued supplying the basic Detroit two cycle engines- if so I haven't seen one yet ?
