I have recently salvaged a one cyl./6 hp engine. The only info I have, is from a name plate that was attached to the engine: IMPERIAL GAS ENGINE CO., SAN FRANCISCO CAL, SHOP NO. 1056, HP 6, REV. 400. The engine was salvaged from a sunken boat. I am looking for manual, pictures, ads, any info I can get on it will be appreciated.

Imperial Gas Engine Co. was founded around 1903 in San francisco, they made their engines extremely heavy with large flywheels, 4 cycle and slow turning. I believe the first engs were 5 HP later making larger and multi cylinder ones. 1916 they merged with Alas Gas Engine Co. also in San Francisco to become Atlas-Imperial Engine Co.and went on to early development and production of diesel engines.

Would like to hear about how you located and the salvaging of your engine ? any photos ?
