Several weeks ago I was Contacted by

DC

She informed me that Carlisle Finch was the maker of the Clifton Marine Engines and as company historian was searching for all information about the engines.

This is info from my data base

Founded in 1894 by Robert Finch and Morton Carlisle, invented the electric train.
History article in Motor Boat april 10, 1924,
1900 Ad for electric and acetylene search lights and Gas eng Magnetos!
Also made marine & stationary engines

I never found info tying Carlisle Finch Co.
and the Clifton Engines until talking with Debra.

carlislefinch.com

I researched all my ad sources and found ads from 1901 to 1916 when production of the engines ceased because of WWI. Carlisle Finch production then concentrated on the war effort.

There are some collectors here that have Clifton
Marine Engines or photos. possible to post photos to further this research ??
Any help would be appreciated.

If any one interested in the Clifton photo ads I collected for Debra's files let me know I could make a post with the ads !

Richard, I think some of the collector's on Harry's forum have Carlisle & Finch small stationary engines. They may have some info about this company. Here's a few pic's one of a 4 cycle & another one of a 2 cycle both are Carlisle & Finch engines.
