I have a ford marine 302 that I am building from block up. I am using stock heads to begin with but I am wondering if anyone has suggestions for crank rings and cam to get good power for wakeboarding. Will most likely upgrade heads later, but want to get the bottom end of the motor built up from the start.

I would suggest using a 351W block as it is stronger, has larger Mains, larger head bolts, Main bolts, Cam and still can use the same 302W type heads.

Hope this helps.

Just my opinion.
