I have a 40hp Murray Tregurtha 3 cyl. engine. I was told it came out of John Willys yacht when it was repowered. Are any more of these around? Can anyone determine the age of it by the serial #? Also, I need some pictures of the intake manifold side.Thank you,--John 40hp Murray Tregurtha

What a beauty! There is some fine molding and casting work!

Welcome and thanks for posting; could we see a few more photos please?

PS: who was John Willy?

Here is a single cylinder of somewhat the same construction. I'll try and get better pictures of the carb but it has the long drop down pipe with the carb at the bottom.

Yes. This is a photo of my engine's nameplate. I haven't looked at it for awhile and mis-stated the HP @40.
John N. Willys was the president of the Willys/Overland Automobile Co. in Toledo Ohio. It now is the home of JEEP. 35hp Murray tregurtha
