Hello, I am new to site, but, hoping I can get some help. Looking at acquiring a barber v twin marine engine......Are these kinda rare, and are they usually pricey ? Thanks

They aren't common , and as a result, a bit spendy. But - heck what else are going to do with your $$$.
The guys here would love to see pictures, and if you do manage to get it - for sure, you'll get a lot of help to get 'er going

Depends,
There are a couple of them around. 1 is in Mass and is basically junk. The crankcase has been welded and the connecting rods are missing the caps and rod bearings.
