I have a 1926 Huon Pine 28' motor sailer. She has a Yanmar 20 diesel fitted. The Shaft log is timber and where the stuffing box connects to the shaft log there is some evidence of electrolysis. The prop shaft and stuffing box appear to be in good condition and there is the usual slight leak from the stuffing box. The shaft log connects to the keel of the boat. Can anyone describe and/or provide a sketch of how to rebuild the timber shaft log.
