I have a Sabb 2 H. I recently had the 2 injectors overhauled at a local Bosch injector shop. I am getting fuel to the injectors but not sure the injectors spraying the diesel. I am wondering if new injectors require a higher pressure than my 1972
Bosch pump will put out ?
( suppose I could be flooding the engine because when it is cold I usually squirt a few shots of 10W oil in the glow plug hole ( I do not have the glow plug option) |

If you have the hole you should see if its squirting.If the injector place used new springs they may have set the opening preasure much higher. The old cat manuels used to say instal the injector upsidedown and see if it works. BE VERY CAREFULL OF THE SPRAY. |

Turning injectors upside down to check flow.
Great idea Larry- Also read about this concept after your comment. Our diesel mechanic Paul at Avondale Boat Yard, RI said the same. On a Sabb they nicely bolt right upside down.
Spray was not the problem- cotton from the Sabb cigarette igniter got pushed into the injector chamber. Paul had a few other great ideas. Forget the igniter and squirting oil into the cylinder- use a butane torch to preheat the air as your are cranking. Started right up! |
