I had a 4 cyl. 162 lugger, which I'm turning into a 6 cyl 226. Question is, neither seems to have messed with a thermostat, and just ran freshwater through and stayed cold...
Should I stick with this or else how were they plumbed up? Still have to make sure the exhaust gets its water...?
Thanks!
Craig

Hey Craig,

The temperature regulation system on my Lugger 4 112 is a home plumbing style valve that you adjust by hand to get roughly the temp you want. If it overheats, open that valve a bit more to let more raw water in. If it's runnung too cold, shut it down a bit.

Another interesting thing they chose to not mess with is an oil filter. There's a magnetic drain plug to attract the metal filings, but no filter.

Simpler is better - I think.

Enjoy
