Hi fokes,
I�m David from Germany and I�m restoring currently a Boesch 500 from 1959.
She came with a gray marine 6 cyl. engine (see attachment)
Does anybody reconginze by the Picture which type the engine is?
Does anybody know where I can buy an overhauled engine of the same type. It would be also ok for me to buy it somewhere in the US..

There is a tag on the reverse gear that should say what it is. Just below the guy's kneecap in the left photo.

I think your engine ( Gray Marine) uses the same engine block as the Buchanan engines of the same time period.
The Buchanan engines are still supported by Parry Automotive in Orillia Canada, that is, they have spare parts and machinery to re-build the engines.

The man to contact at Parry Automotive is Jeff Titsall - he is the head manager of the machine shop there and is very knowledgeable about older marine engines of the type that you have.

Graymarine of this vintage used "Continental" engines. If this is a 'Gray 109' then the base engine is a Continental f226. These engines were very popular in large commercial air compressors, fork lifts, portable sand blast units etc.
