I'm hunting for a transmission housing that's compatible with a '40-'41 gray engine. I've been shown a potential match. The housing matches, but don't know enough about trannies to know if it's mounted to a 4cyl engine if it's compatible w a 6. I assume so, but would love to learn more about these transmissions. Thank you and pls don't be shy!!

I have some sixes, but no fours to compare to. I would think they are different.

Hi Ned. You have six cyl transmissions or engines with the transmissions for comparison? I've ruled out the four cyl option as they are indeed different. Here is the mounting plate I have for reference.

I have one Gray '109' with a hydraulic Paragon reverse gear (1:1) - gear on the engine. I also have one Gray '109' with the mechanical gear (1:1) - gear and engine separate.
