Hello
Ive got a continental 6 cylinder, with a casting number on the forward port side, "F600" I was wondering if this would help me to discern which motor it is? I have a manual with a bunch of different models and their info, but dont know how to tell which motor it is...
Thankyou!
Craig

Its a 6 cylinder F series when the casting was made they did not know which size pistons would be installed so i can't say what ci. it really is. The 226 is the most common, but the 209 and 227 were allso made.

Thankyou, I really appreciate the help!
Unfortunatly, I dont think I'll be able to use the engine unless I can find a wet manifold, and marine oil pan. I'd consider making either, but both sounds like quite a task!
Thanks again
Craig

Does anyone by chance know if what Im trying to do will work?
Ive got a lugger 162 with recently whipped bearings and crank. Its not enough for the boat anyway. I also have a 6 cylinder that looks awfully similar. I want to get a marine pan and manifold, and I think my transmission and other periphials will bolt up. Is this true? Will the trans still get its lube thru the crank?
I really appreciate any advise....
Craig
