Here is a treasure from another bucket of parts I dragged home tonight and spirited into the house without my wife noticing. This small manifold (8.25" center to center bolt spacing)is all brass despite looking like iron. The only iron on it is the two high crown bolts that hold it together. There is a check valve (poppet valve) inside. There are two small openings visible in the photos that may have been for needle valves. Both the threaded nipples visible simply open into the same chamber. I have some inkling how Schebler D carburetors and Monarch generator valves work but this seems to have more openings than I know what to do with. It is quite distinctive but probably one of those oddball things I will never be able to identify. Oh, well, it these kinds of things that keep it fun.

In regard to iron bolts threaded into brass and bronze, the two metals seem to weld together with time. What is the safest and most effective method of salvaging both the bolts and the brass castings?
