Anyone ever see a carb like this? This came from a Detroit Engine Works marine catalog and the advert says new Detroit carb but it has the word Marvel embossed in two different places on the carb. Sorry about the small scan but thats the biggest I could get it and stay within the 100KB limit of the forum.

There is a 1912 Barthel fuel feeder on eBay. The asking price is $150 but there have been no bidders on it yet. These are the acorn top fuel feeders that went on Detroit engines. Hard as old heck to find. Put the following number into the eBay search box and the listing should pop right up. 161773128481

Seacher,

Did the seller end that action a few days early? I seen your post Tuesday the 28 and went and looked at the auction. Still had like three days left until the end. Went and looked at it today Wednesday and it's done.

Went and looked at it again, appears that it started July 24th and it was only a 5 day auction. I must have looked at something wrong. Well someone got a deal on that one. $157.00 cheapest I have seen one sell in a long time. Thanks any ways.

John,
The auction ended today, Jul 29, 2015 at 09:44 PDT. It went for $157.50 and there were only two bidders. I am surprised there were only two bidders given the high number of extant Detroit family engines and how difficult it is to find one of these fuel feeders.

I have a 1" Marvel carburetor pictured above. The only markings are on the tag rivited to the inlet elbow.
