Does anyone know the Lucas part number for the contact breaker assembly used on the P66 please. Also if anyone knows of any source for the part I would be grateful for the info. I have just about given up trying to get anything from Fairways Marine in the UK as they seem to be vying to offer the worst service in the world not withstanding they seem nice people,

Have you tried Independent Ignition supplies (They have a website which will come up on a google search). Ive used them for lucas parts in the past and they've been really good....

Thanks guys, I have tried Independent Ignition Supplies but they only deal with magnetos and parts for them. However I gather from Lucas that the P66 contact assembly is a Lucas 6CA, which they no longer have anything to do with. It did however give me something to go on and I have found a company called TMS of Nottingham who deal with vintage motorcycles. From them comes the information that the Lucas 6CA was replaced by the Lucas 10CA, which is interchangeable and they have the complete assemblies in stock plus breaker arms for both the 6CA and 10CA. They also carry an equivalent to the Lucas M1712 ignition coil made by a German outfit called PVL. Condensers are also available. Another company selling some bits like condenser packs is Chris Knight Motorcycles though I haven't talked to them yet, only looked at the products on their web site.

Interesting to note that the prices for items from TMS are up to 75% less than the same from Fairways. For example a contact set is £4 plus vat whereas I was charged £17.76 plus vat (i.e. £41.73 total for the pair) for the same item when I had an engine overhauled. Even with that charging when I looked at the overhauled engine it still had the old points in it and not new ones but that's another story!

I'm now looking for compression seals - any ideas? The seals seem to be an odd imperial size and my local bearing company is having trouble tracking them down. I also have not found anyone outside Fairways for core plugs and main bearings yet. I don't really object to paying more for these (or anything else if I get the service) but trying to get them supplied in any sensible timescale is a nightmare.
