OK, I have managed to free the flywheel and the motor spins over now which is a great relief! There is plenty of compression evident. Next step is to locate a sutable mechanic or person that knows ST P66's and can get the motor going for me. The motor is still in the boat and I'd like to leave it in. I'll most likely have to end up towing the whole boat to the repairer. The boat is in Drysdale, near Queesncliff, at the moment. Does anybody have any suggestions on who to contact that is good at working on dead P66's please?
I want to keep this motor in the boat if I can.
Thanks
JK

I guess the simple checks are:

Does the fuel get through? Look for wet spark plug, smelling of fuel.

If so, are you getting a spark?

Really, with compression, fuel (fresh, not stale) and a good spark an engine should go.
