Mike, I acquired a pumping set just like the one in your photograph a couple of years ago, but have only just got around to looking at it. Mine has a rotary magneto but gives no spark. It appears that Fairways Marine is out of business (temporarily we hope) at the moment, so any ideas about dating? Its serial number is R2 30773. Any info about WICO rotary mags too?

hi howard

ive just restored a stuart r2 lighting plant with a wico ign system. i found that it was not a mag as such but a coil and a set of points which you power by battery. the flywheel had never had magnets on it its a 1934 model plant no 30088

The Wico flywheel magneto should have the magnets
on the crank and not the flywheel.Your engine has been converted to coil at some time.
For Wico rotary magneto information go to--
