A friend 300 miles from me just hauled home the Albin two cylinder engine pictured, (hopefully) with this post. I can see the mag is missing and the shift lever for the gear box. Can't tell from his photo if the flywheel, (if it needs one) is there. I'd appreciate any comments on possible missing parts because he is going back to look for anything that looks like it might be associated with this engine or other things he got. This will be my first experience with an Albin, so I'm just beginning to lear. Thanks, Dennis in E. WA stateAlbin with unknown missing parts

Hello!
The engine is a Swedish Albin O2 a precursor to Ø21, some stuff is missing what I can see your image as example the cooling water pump, flywheel, ignition solenoid with shelf.
What you do not see is the carburetor, oil pump, among other things.

Peter: Thank you for your comments. I've noticed that feedback has been slow in coming. I do now own this engine, however, it being 300 miles from me I have yet to pick it up. My friend is going through a lot of, "junk," where it had lived, so I hope missing parts surface. The fellow that obtained it originally was well informed on mechanicals and I doubt he'd have taken home anything missing much.

So this is older than an 021. I need to learn more about it.

I understand you to observe the following as missing: flywheel, ignition solenoid,(magneto?)with shelf or bracket and water pump.

And because we only see one side of the engine, we cannot see if there is a carburetor, oil pump, etc.

I also think a shift lever is missing.

Am I understanding all this properly?

Also, do you know any sources of detail information on this, "02," engine?

Thank you very much,
Dennis

Hi!
Albin delivered its first engine in 1906, in various models also hotbulbengine were on the program.
Engine type "O" came out in 1928 and went to knock among the competitors were in the 1.2 and 4cyl.O-2 weighs 95kg with reverse gear and developed 8 hk.Typen O-21 came 1949.It is an engine number on the engine block is stamped between " type and O-2 "where you can see when the engine is made.Your engine is not missing the gear lever it is rigidly mounted on the right side as shown in the picture I send .It is a supplier in Sweden" www.albinmotor.com "who reconditions these engines among others
