Butch Felterman built a light house as a tribute to the shrimping industry, he and his brother Ernest got their start shrimping and went on to offshore boats. He had us all over with our bateaus on Saturday Oct 17. Here's a link to a Youtube of the boats passing.

Ernest Felterman was there to watch his son Mike run his newly redone 8hp Lockwood Ash in an original 1920's bateau. Ernest was one of the first to restore one of these boats. It saddens me to say this was his last outing, he died the next week. He was a great guy and contributed a lot to our hobby.

I feel that I was very privileged to have met both of the brothers and to see their work , effort and contributions. Their commitment to their community and their very tangible demonstration of support and leadership is an example for all of us.

The world is a better place because of them.
