Miro,

I refer to your September 01 post to the Atlantic group. I thought to initiate a new post about this very important subject.

To start discussion , here is your post ………..

“Generally speaking, use what works.
I think you've got it about right.
I switched to the so-called smokeless oil, because SWMBO didn't like the plume of blue smoke - more cosmetic than anything else.
miro”

Your post introduces the subject of visible smoke from a two stroke engine exhaust. In your situation it’s SWMBO who is concerned. In my situation, it’s MWIC. SHMBO gets a bit woozy when looking over the side so is not aware of the exhaust appearance.

I regularly use a two stoke that powers my boat to cruise different lakes including Lake Rouseau. As I cruise by the shore, I’m always aware that there just might be a slight visible smoke exiting the exhaust pipe, that would bother those who live in this pristine environment, Segwin notwithstanding.

You refer to “smoke less” oil. Have you discovered the Holy Grail? If so what is the brand name, where can I buy it and most importantly, does it work to eliminate any “ visible smoke plume from the exhaust of a two stroke engine?

I’m hopeful others have information that may add to a better understanding of this very important subject and possibly help to eliminate two cycle visible exhaust.

Barry
