Does anyone out there know of a company named Standard Motor Parts Company? If so what do you know about them?

Well standard motor products co.used the trade name of blue streak and sold mainly ignition and electic parts.They had an oval sign with a big S in the center and blue streak across the front.Is this the co.?

Larry,

I think that might be a different company.

The Standard Motor Parts Company I'm talking about sold stationary, marine and automotive engine parts. They took over the operation of running the following companies from Wadsworth Manufacturing Co. sometime around 1917, Detroit Engine Works, Detroit Motor Car Supply Co., Columbia Engine Co., Detroit Boat Co. and Michigan Steel Boat Co.

Aloha,

I got a Repair Parts Price list from Hit & Miss Enterprises, their number LS-651, which covers Gray 4 Cycle Stationary Engines, Models G-2 and M. It was issued by "Standard Motor Parts Co., Detroit Michigan."

Although undated I can tell that it was issued no earlier than 1914 based on the configuration of the engines covered.

That sounds like the correct company, I guess they sold parts for a lot of different company's.
