Bill,
The race ones are a Yale Harvard race in the Thames River New London, CT. It was hard to tell as a lot of the landmarks that I know aren't there yet. After looking at the pics again it is pretty clear in the bottom left of the 2nd pic. Yale Harvard Race 1910
The pic was most likely taken from the New Haven Railroad bridge looking north up the Thames River. The bridge is still there and is part of the Amtrak Northeast Corridor from Washington DC to Boston. The interstate 95 bridge is just north of the railroad bridge. When crossing the river on I 95 looking north this is the view you would get. The Coast Guard Academy is on the left and the Navy submarine base is on the right before the hill that is the center far horizon. Too bad the boats in the pic aren't still around.
In fact some of them may be. This race in that time frame was huge. Vanderbilts, Rockefellers and all the aristocricay would attend in their yachts or private railroad coaches. The New Haven went up the east bank of the river and the Central Vermont went up the west bank.
If you have them in higher res can your forward them to me?
The 2nd misc pic is really cool. Love the striped pajamas. Here is is again cropped. The boats look they are all stored for the winter.

Ernie,
I assumed it was a ivy league race, and by the size of some of those yachts, it was no doubt a big deal. I will send you a higher res picture.
