I received this engine for Christmas about 9 years ago. I don't know if I ever tried to confirm it's identity thru this site. It's is a very small motor. The flywheel is only about 9 inches. At the time I was told it was a Steffy. Any ideas?

I would say it could be, I have a steffey bicycle motor in my collection, The cyinder in fins as well as the crankcase look very simular
I do know Steffey made both 2 and 4 cycle engines
in the 1 to 2 hp range

Keith

Neat little motor, not many really old air cooled Marine engs !

The name Steffy Mfg Co. was entered into my system from the 1906 American Boating Directory and I have not seen reference any where else other than this undated two page ad ? hope its readable !

Wow! that is a neat little engine, does remind me of a old motorcycle engine. Would like to have that one in my collection.
