Ferro was one of the 2 cycle marine engines designed to run in only one direction. The cylinders were offset over the crank to reduce piston thrust. Gear water pumps like the Gray used also determined rotation. My US Falcon and Holiday 4cycles both turn ccw facing the crank, opposite of most modern engines.
