Hi - I have some Fairbanks catalogs that go back to 1907. Can you provide some additional info?

bob.... did you ever get a mold and cast up some atwater kent distributor caps and does anyone have information on how they dealt with 1 cylinder was it the same type as a k or h or was it just the breakers thanks bob... |

Hello Bob - no I solved my problem by finding another A-K distributor cap. Of course, I still have the CAD 3D models so if there is a perceived need for some I could work on it some more. As for how they dealt with one cylinder engines I haven't a clue. My CADY is a two cylinder and used a four cylinder cap which is what I was lucky enuf to find. |

There was definitely a company making replacement AK caps in the 30s and 40s. They may have got hold of the original AK molds, as I recently saw an AK radio part on ePay that claimed to have been made in the original molds - it certainly looked perfect. Someone in the AK radio field might know who this was, though it is doubtful much would have survived till now. |
