Does anyone have any information on the Guarantee Motor Company of Hamilton, Ontario?
This single-cylinder, four stroke engine is probably about 600lbs. Name is on the crankcase hand hole covers. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Blair When researching Magnet cream separators (petrie manufacturing of hamilton) I looked up Guarantee motors Because the magnet engine I have looks like a marine engine so I thought there might be a connection. The Hamilton library have one sales booklet in their archives, doesnt give any history,They were located at 369 bay street north, hamilton. I photo copied a few pages,I will have to scan them into my computor and send them. Would it be easier to post them here or send them to your email? thanks mike. (maybe you are close to Hamilton and you can go look for your self?)

Thanks Mike.
I'm sure that there are others here who would also be interested in seeing what you were able to dig up on this old company. The drive to Hamilton is a bit much from where we are unless we could pick up some old iron on the way and make it really count. Looking forward to seeing what you found. Thanks.

My notes Say Guarantee Motor Co. Hamilton, Ontario was established in 1901 By two engineers
E.T Krug ( had been employed at WestingHouse ) and H.A Crosby. By 1911 they offered both 2 & 4 cycle engines.

This is copy of photo in Wendels, American Gas Engines book.

Thanks for those Mike.
That really helps.
How much information must be out there in all these little libraries and archives that we would love to get our hands on.
Thanks again,
Blair
