I found this engine in a junk pile and thought I'd grab it. It's missing a few parts so I'm wondering if anyone knows what make it is or model? Much help appreciated.Thanks.It's missing the flywheel and some other parts by the looks of it

That looks more like a flat belt pully than a flywheel.

Boy, Looks like the original flywheel is gone and the cylinder is turned around? (usually the removable plate is in the front to allow the C/S and flywheel to be removed together. Does the "spark plug" hole pass through to the combustion chamber?

Doesn't it have to other wise the spark plug wouldn't do anything on the ignition stroke because the piston would be in the way.

Mostly I was thinking that maybe this was some kind of belt driven/water cooled compressor but since there are no reed valves I guess not. I do see the shaft with out a flw wheel has a taper and what looks loke a threaded end (to hold a flywheel?) There is a gas vapor channel on the cylinder opposite the "exhaust pipe". It must be a 3 port? (I hate to admit it but I can not keep those terms straight but the carb does not lead directly into the crank case and no check valve is needed).

Long ago I bought a Truscott one cylinder M&B. It had a bailer flywheel cobbed up on the shaft that should have turned the prop shaft. I was told the owner belted it to a wood saw. In those days I guess you used what you had.

There is a chance that this was a stationary engine. The base is level
