Dave, this should be a Lockwood Ash manufactured engine, I have some info on them. Are you looking for anything specific.

J.B., I am looking for a drawing to see how the intake and exhaust work. I am having trouble starting the engine. Any info to help this process would be appreciated.

Does your engine have a Schebler Carb or a Lunkenheimer mixer? The carb has to have a valve cage and check valve between it and the motor. The Lunk has a check valve built in. The Early motors had a bolt on exhaust manifold, later just had a threaded hole to screw a pipe in. Nothing fancy about the exhast, shouldn't stop it from starting, make sure the ports aren't carboned up.

I am not sure what make of carb.it has on it,but it does seem like it could be a check valve problem because it seems to blow back. The exhaust has a threaded hole with a pipe. How can I tell what carb. it has.Do you think I should dismantel the carb.Thank You for your input.
