On a couple of occasions now i have observed people's interpretation of fuel to oil mixing ratios; and some think that;
50:1 [wrongly] means fifty ml per litre.
25:1 [wrongly] means twenty-five ml per litre.

Really they have it backwards. The "1" is always the Oil !
which meant their method has them making an oiler mix at 50:1,,,,,, then a lean mix at 25:1 !!!! Oh-O!

Simply; ................
25:1 means 25 parts Petrol to 1 Part Oil
50:1 means 50 parts Petrol to 1 part Oil

If you were to get it wrong ; then your 50:1 could actually be turning-out as oily 20:1
and your 25:1 could actually be turning-out as 40:1
Luckily - Putt putt 32:1 happens to have a tricky number that almost works with either calculation;
[ 1 litre ] 1000ml petrol, divide by 32 = 31.25 ml oil
So; if you were to just put in 32 ml per litre of petrol, it would happen to be close enough!

So, for metric; calculate your litres of petrol in thousands of millilitres, as your oil too will be measured in millilitres.
Eg; 5 litre of petrol @ 50:1..........=
5000ml divide by 50 = 100ml of Oil to be added
